Loons at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge
I attended a high school graduation party in Big Lake yesterday. I was hot but there was cold beer and great food. Since I was already close, I decided to stop by the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge and drive the wildlife loop after the party.
I saw all kinds of birds but spent the most time with a family of common loons, two adults and two young. They were very close to the road so some of my shots actually cropped out parts of the birds. I was using the D5000 (the d7k is in for repair) with the 500 f4 + 1.4tc.
